Brush-a-mania
Mar. 11, 2025 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Brush-a-mania

Now in its twenty-fifth consecutive year, Brush-a-mania is a not-for-profit program designed for children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 to promote good oral health.
This creative, in-school awareness program created by the Scarborough Rotary PassportClub, was started in 2001 and has already reached over a million Canadian students. Brush-a-mania’s goal is to educate and motivate children and to bring together dentists, Rotarians, teachers and parents to create a celebration around proper dental care.
“We’re excited to celebrate our 25th year of educating students,” said Dr. Raffy Chouljian, Brush-a-mania Founder and Chair. “It is very important that children learn about oral healthcare while they are young because it’s such an important component of
their overall health.”
Dr. Dan Vockeroth from Timmins advised “I've always found Brush-a-mania to be an incredible way to connect with kids in the community regarding their oral health. In each and every school, I'm always amazed to see the level of excitement that the kids show during the presentations. And this, without a doubt, helps so many of them learn more about the importance of their oral health.”
2022-2023 Canadian Dental Association President, Dr. Lynn Tomkins, advised “Brush-a-Mania is a wonderful initiative that has promoted good oral health habits and increased the awareness of the importance of good oral health for thousands of schoolchildren over the last 25 years.”
Dr. Lisa Bentley ODA President, 2022-2023 "Participating in Brushamania, with local MPPs, was one of the highlights of my ODA Presidency. To see the children so happy and engaged and excited to receive their toothbrushes. One of the best oral health initiatives around."
Dr. Doreh Behzadpoor shared “As a pediatric dentist, I am thrilled to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Brush-a-Mania program. This remarkable initiative has played a vital role in fostering good oral health habits among children in our community. By making dental education engaging and accessible, Brush-a-Mania empowers young minds to take charge of their oral hygiene, setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Congratulations to the all participants for your commitment to improving children’s oral health and well-being. Here's to many more years of spreading the joy of brushing!"
In Toronto, Friday, April 4, 2025 will be proclaimed Oral Health Day by Mayor Olivia Chow. Brush-a-mania would like to encourage other municipalities to also declare this day Oral Health Day in their community and are recommending that as many school assemblies as possible be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10 am to coordinate the Brush-off across Canada. The goal for 2025 is to have 100,000 students in over 200 schools participate throughout Canada.
As Brush-A-Mania celebrates its 25th anniversary, it stands not only as a testament to the power of community but as a shining example of how passion and dedication can leave a lasting impact for generations to come.
If you want to get involved or participate in 2025 please send me a message.
